A huge thank you to the Leica store in Amsterdam for a very special few days!
I went in for a chat about different cameras (M10 vs. Monochrom) and talk turned to some portraits I had done by Rahi Rezvani, who had used a whole variety of Leicas. The salesman said he knew Rahi’s work and to seal an apparent deal, got out a box of portraits to inspire me. I’m not sure who was more surprised to see the first photograph in the official Leica portrait box was one of my ugly mug taken by Rahi!

At that point the manager of the store suggested he lend me a Leica M10-P and a Summicron-M 50mm f/2 for a few days to see what I thought – something I would never have thought possible. So here are a few of the snaps I took having fun walking around a sunny Amsterdam! They’re in no way polished or perfect, but I certainly had a fun few days!

While I’d love at some stage to own a Leica – as it was very satisfying – I did return the camera and think “not now”. It’s for someone more polished than me, though never say never!
(Am starting to save…)
